In early 2008 I paid £66 for three personal adverts in the BBC's Ariel staff magazine, mainly to see if they would be accepted or if Ariel's current editor would reject them as had Robin Reynolds in 1997. To my surprise not only were they accepted but presumably due to a publishing glitch Ariel printed the ads for six weeks instead of the three I had paid for. They appeared in week 3 (15.1.08) through week 8 (19.2.08). The following advert ran for those six weeks.
I decided against further advertising with Ariel because £22 per issue is quite expensive and I am short of money. I did not know what if any impact the ads were having and I got no feedback from BBC employees on the website so I discontinued the personals.
